Cable Connector Types

Cable connectors can be "free" (connected only to the cable), or mounted on equipment and attached to the cable in order to convey signals through equipment housings. Examples are shown below.

Right angle cable plugs and jacks can have either a cube body (with or without access cap) or a mitered body. In access cap types, the center contact extends straight back from the interface, and has a notch at the rear for soldering the cable center conductor. This type has lower electrical performance than connectors without access caps (which utilize a swept contact), because of the abrupt right-angle transition at the solder joint.

Of course, if you need a type other than the standard types shown (for example, a right angle cable jack), please don't hesitate to call us--we're not afraid of special designs.
