Plating Finishes
Gold Plating
With excellent solderability and corrosion resistance, gold plating provides highly reliable protection in extreme environments and is the preferred plating finish for copper and stainless steel.
Silver Plating
Silver provides the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all the precious metals, has a low contact resistance, and is commonly used in high power and intermodulation applications.
Nickel Plating
Due to its excellent chemical and corrosion-resistance properties, nickel is often used as the plating solution for a lower-cost outer deposit or a barrier metal to prevent base metal migration.
Copper Plating
As a soft, ductile metal with high thermal and electrical conductivity, copper is commonly used as an underplating to improve adhesion and corrosion resistance of the outer plating layers.
Albaloy Plating
A tri-metal alloy averaging 55.6%Cu/25-28%Sn/14-18%Zn, albaloy offers high corrosion resistance, PIM protection, and excellent electrical performance, and is an alternative to silver, nickel, or gold.
Passivate Plating
Removing metal impurities while creating a hard, nonreactive surface, passivation provides corrosion protection for stainless steel components and is a lower-cost alternative to gold plating.
